Was WONDERFUL!General Conference is always a great weekend. Unfortunately, this year, General Conference fell on the weekend before finals week. Lucky us right? So between trying to study and being constantly tired (being pregnant makes you tired 24/7) it was a challenge to give GC my full attention.
Basically, I am excited to get the Conference edition Ensign so I can read the talks I missed. It was nice to see my Uncle, Elder Spencer J. Condie,

of the Seventy give the opening prayer to the Saturday Morning session. Our first plan was to drive down to Salt Lake and stay with my Uncle and Aunt over Conference but Ryan has 9 tests next week and I have 5. We needed those extra hours to study.
Another exciting thing this weekend was the
VICTORY of the University of North Carolina Tarheels! They played Villanova Saturday night. I am so excited to call UNC as my team, but my heart will always be with University of Washington. UNC always has a fantastic basketball team and the excitement for March Madness is crazy in North Carolina. You either Love the Tarheels and HATE the Duke Blue Devils or vice versa. You can ask anyone, are you a UNC or Duke fan? and you will get a response like Ryan says, and I quote, "I HATE DUKE and I will beat up anyone who likes them."

Or you're like this girl in my Health Science class from this semester. She is a born and raised girl from Rexburg, Idaho. She has big blond hair and wears big accessories. One day I was discussing March Madness with a girl next to me who served her mission in Raleigh, NC...the city next to Chapel Hill where UNC is located. I was telling her how excited I was to see them play and that almost everyone had them willing the NCAA Championship. Out of nowhere, the Rexburg native shouts from across the room, "I HATE UNC. Duke is where it's at. They're going to win." Trying to be Christ-like, I reply back, "Aren't you from Rexburg?" Stacy, the RM from the Raleigh Mission starts laughing. I say again, "Are you kidding me? You have no idea what you're talking about. UNC is ranked number 1 right now and you have absolutely n

o ties to even THINK about Liking DUKE!" End of conversation. I'm way serious that
you need to either have a parent who went to school there, or
you lived there, or
you currently live there or
you go to school there...
YOU get the picture? Anyways....That was an intense day and I've repented since. My blood bleeds
Carolina Blue now and I should probably simmer down a bit. I think my sister-in-law, Julie was more proud of that come back. Our dream is for Ryan to be accepted to UNC Law School. So hopefully in 2010, we will be there!!!
