Progress baby Progress....

Calling the hospital and saying, "I think I'm contracting" is a very interesting feeling. I mean, who really knows when it's their first baby. I SURE DIDN't!

I hadn't been feeling well since about 4PM so Ryan and I took a long walk around 5PM and by the time we got back the "contractions" were 2-3 minutes apart and really strong. SO I called to the hospital and they said "If you're not smiling during the contractions....come on in." Do you think I was smiling? I wasn't. Not even close to smiling. We went in, stayed for a bit, told me I was dialated to a 1cm, and then sent me home 3 hours later. My doctor said that it shouldn't be much longer. BGB needs to get farther down the birth canal and then I will start dialating faster.

So now we wait.

While I still feel the contractions 2-3 minutes apart. Oh joy. They suggested a hot bath. Are you kidding me? A HOT BATH?!?!?! Well...lets see if it works. I'll try anything.

BUT...on the way back from the hospital....we got TACO BELL!
(not only was it super tastey, I'm hoping it'll send my bowels into distress to then make my water break. Taco Bell plus Meagan does not work about an hour later after eating...so lets hope! Eventhough it's the best thing ever while eating...like all fast food...it makes me ILL afterwards)

My absolutely wonderful Mother!

My extremely talented Mother, senora Ingrid Steele, has been working on BGB's quilt. I've been dying to see it and she finally decided to mail it out to me a couple weeks ago. Lets just say, I sat on the couch holding it for awhile. I can't wait to wrap BGB in it and have her feel her Gramma's love! I always joked about my house growing up that it was Amish because my Mom made soooo many quilts and put them up. Now I know why. They are absolutely beautiful. She taught herself how to quilt and has absolutely mastered the art. She even does it mostly by hand....are you kidding me!? When BGB grows out of the quilt, it is going to be mounted on the wall for all to look at it!

Thanks again, Mom. You are AMAZING.
(and I can't wait to see you in 2 weeks....I need you!)

Cookies!

My wonderful mother-in-law, Dolly, sent us the cutest Halloween box full of decorations. She also included a sugar cookie mix, frosting, and sprinkles!

I know, can my belly get any bigger?????

Realized we don't own a rolling pin! Are you kidding me!? So, this is Ryan using his hands to flatten the dough.

Happy boy!

Thanks again, Dolly! We loved the cookies and the decorations!

We put the Caution: Enter if you Dare! Strip on the baby's door!

We Made It!!

I am happy to report that we got Ryan's LSAT score back today. We are SO EXCITED. I am so proud of him. I am not going to disclose his score, because it is his news to tell...but we have made our top 15 schools to apply to and we couldn't be more excited. I am thrilled to say that we will be SOMEWHERE next Fall 2010 for Law School. Hopefully we'll get some money to go too!! We cannot wait to start applying and hearing back from schools! Thank you for all your prayers and hopeful thoughts for us! We appreciate all the support from friends and family. This time has been Very stressful but we have made it through the tough part. Now, it'll be deciding on a school. But at least we got the tough part out of the way.
.
Now, all we need is the baby to come!!

For You, J-RAD

Last night, Ryan and I watched the HIPHOP DEF JAMS Concert on VH1. Ryan has a soft spot in his heart for the true rappers of hiphop. I'll admit it, I love the old rappers too. It was fun to jam out. It brought back many memories of dance parties in 8th grade in my friends garage.

Most of you don't know my younger brother, Jared. He is serving his mission in Arcadia California. He is quite the gangster. He L-O-V-E-S hiphop. Ryan's favorite memory of Jared before he left was driving to the Church building to play pick-up Basketball and jamming out to Wu-Tang Clan and Ghostface Killah. Jared definitely missed out on this concert. I should have had my parents tape it! Dang it. Oh well.

Fun Times Carving Pumpkins!

Not only is Fall my absolute favorite season...Halloween is definitely tied with Christmas for my favorite holiday. I love Halloween because of the CANDY CORN! So good. I know it's pure sugar and it's rotting my teeth....but I L-O-V-E it.
.
We had our friends come over to carve pumpkins with us on Saturday night. It was a blast. I'm no pro at carving so I let Ryan take over that duty. We had apples and caramel, hot apple cider, and yummy candies!

Professional right here

I am beginning to think I am turning into a professional at being pregnant.

So apparently the JOYOUS news of measuring 2 weeks ahead was a complete hoax. The more and more I thought about my last doctors appointment, the more I didn't believe the doctor. For starters, the office I go to has 3 rotating doctors. Which is fine, I would rather have 100 doctors know my charts than just 1. I have been seeing one of the doctors basically my whole pregnancy. We'll call him Dr. B. I love him. I trust him. And I know he'll be a champ if he delivers me. Anyways, but last week I was scheduled with a young doctor that I've only seen one other time this pregnancy. We'll call him Dr. A. Last week, I was sitting on the examination chair and he was over at the sink looking over my chart and barely looked at me. He came over to me, measured me, listened to BGB's heart beat, and then went back to the sink. Not even looking at me he goes,

Dr: "You're measuring 2 weeks ahead."
Me: "So that means?"
Dr: "We may induce you early."
Me: "What? Okay."

No explanation after that. I told him I had some anxiety when it was hard to breath. He told me that is a natural response and didn't say much else to help it.

So then this week, I made sure I went to Dr. B. Now, Dr. B is such a great man. He seriously takes care of me 100% and always listens to my concerns. I thought Dr. A was a liar because my Dr. B has never ever even expressed concern about measuring big or anything. Then today in my appointment, Dr. B checked my measurements, listened to BGB, and then checked to see if I was dilating at all. He goes, "Unless your water breaks sometime this week, we'll see you next week!" Pretty sure I'm never going back to Dr. A again!!! Forget it.

PS. Why didn't anyone tell me that "getting checked" hurts like heLL!??!?!

My pregnancy update email sent me this exciting news:
Congratulations — your baby is full term! This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away.

So here we wait. 20 more days. (yes, it really did sneak up on us)

OH Hilarious. So one morning this week I noticed my belly button was definitely poking out. I got Ryan to come look at it and he goes, "It looks like a turkey timer. You know the ones that pop up when the turkey is done? Maybe that means you're done. BGB is done cooking!" hahaha it was a good time.
