The baby announcing plan

Okay. After much debate, this is how it is all going down.

 My appointment is Friday morning.

The decision has been made.

Ryan and I have talked back and forth a bunch about finding out the sex or waiting it out until delivery. Let's be honest, we can't wait. We are wimps. We gotta know. But I still wanted a bit of it to be a surprise! I know it will be a surprise finding out via ultrasound, but for some reason, I want Ryan and I to find out with all our family around us.

So if everything is looking good and perfect in the ultrasound, the tech will fill in the blank. Seal the envelope. And hand it back to us to sit for basically two days.

Saturday night, when we are all gathered together, we will open up that envelope. In-laws on Skype. Sister on speaker or Skype. Do lots of screaming. Hugging. Laughing. Crying. And also, we will catch it all on the Flip video. Oh ya baby! We are pumped!

Brinley Unplugged

I rarely get Brinley to do anything on the video camera. She is waaaaay too interested in seeing herself and not performing! She's my child right? haha Anywayssss I got 3 minutes of AMAZING singing footage. Stop what you're doing right now. Your mind will be blown after seeing this video. The way her little voice cracks and fluctuates. And the way she says certain words. Melts my heart!

Our After Dinner Routine

Our routine after dinner is to go outside for at least 30 minutes and play together as a family. We kick around the soccer ball. Brinley usually digs for a good chunk of her play time. And I usually sit down on the cement and let my dinner settle :-) The weather has been so beautiful. No humidity. A light cool breeze. Ahhhh....SUCH a dream for April weather, not to mention the end of April. We are moving into a new place next month, and it is a vacation spot compared to our current surroundings! haha! No, but for reals :-) Our plan is to have a fun swim before dinner and use the complexes grill as much as we can. I love summer grilling!!

Are you totally confused why I am this big at only 16 weeks?? (16 weeks on Saturday!). ME TOO! Within the past week, my belly has totally popped out. I wore a pair of my F21 skinny jeans yesterday for only an hour. I cannot rubber band my pants anymore! They are just so dang uncomfortable! I ordered some great Old Navy Maternity clothes and they have been so great to wear so far. My old maternity clothes are 3 years old! and they were washed a ton. I had to retire a bunch when I went through what I had packed away. I can't tell if I am carrying the same way as when I was pregnant with Brinley. I was so compact and HIGH with her that I couldn't wear my under wire bras at all past 30 weeks. Right now, my tummy is a bit out, so it will be interesting how it changes!

I think my acid reflux has settled down now which is pretty nice. I can finally get through the day without planning my next Zantac dose. My energy is still pretty day to day when it comes to serious fatigue. Every day at 5pm when Ryan gets home, I totally shut down and want to pass out from complete exhaustion. Poor guy! He has always been the one to bathe Brinley, but now I appreciate him  doing it even more! It gives me at least 20 minutes of silence downstairs and then when I hear the water draining, I go up and help her get dressed and put to bed.

We are in knee deep with Finals. Pray for my Ryan, will ya?? He had one today, one on Friday and then one next Tuesday...with a paper to complete by next Thursday too. He is such a trooper. I am so proud of him! Tension has been preeeeetty thick lately leading up to finals, but now that he has one out of the way, he seems much more calm. I might cry after he turns in that paper because that means I can call him a 3L!! Only one more year of school. Hooooly cow, it has been a trip, but it has also gone by pretty darn fast too! Amazing how that works when you are SO busy!

Finding out the Gender?

It is so funny how your opinion changes when you're pregnant. I am soooo back and forth about finding out the sex. Ryan was all about waiting-if that's what I really wanted.

Yes, the excitement and anxiety in the delivery room waiting for those 3 little words from the doctor, it's a boy!/girl!! I am sure it is something you can't describe. Maybe it would have been an easier decision if we already had a boy, but I am stressed it IS a boy, and for me, that means I need to plan!

It is all girl over here, and especially to prepare Brinley for her impending life crisis! I don't see her getting too crazy upset out her future sibling, BUT, I am positive she will act out and get bit crazy at times. Every time I have asked her if she wants a baby brother or baby sister, her response 90% of the time has been baby brother! I mean come on, that should be a red flag for sure! A sweet little angel child, MUCH closer to the vail than me, telling me the baby in my tummy is a baby boy!? Ah, it gives me butterflies every time. And she doesn't like any our girl names, but cheers for our (one) boy name! I think for her sake to KNOW it is a brother or sister, is super important in the preparation process.

Since we will be at the beach in 2 weeks with all my family, except my sister, I told Ryan, we MUST find out. It would be so fun to surprise them all with our news!

SO, there is a poll on the right hand side of the blog! Cast your votes, friends! Ultrasound is scheduled for May 4th at 8:30am. I'll try and get a blog post out with our news while we are at the beach! I say I won't have time, but you knoooooooooow I will. Hahaha.
