My parents pulled in on early Thursday afternoon. It is SO nice that the drive is less than 8 hours. Completely doable. I loved that my dad was able to come down too. He is so busy with his work schedule that he rarely gets to vaycay with my Mom. They brought Sophie, of course, she is my sister!! I asked for Friday off which worked out great because it was a teacher planning day anyways so the babe could go to the school her her mama! It was a nice break :-)
We had a pretty relaxed weekend. There isn't much to do where we live, but we tried to make the most of it! The weather was perfect, so we tried to spend most of our time outside. Brinley warmed up to my parents immediately. It was fabulous. My dad took her and Sophie for a walk down the block right when they got here. My mom stayed back with me until the babes mom came and got her. Brinley always said "Papa" for my dad, but by the end of the visit, she started saying "grandpa" almost perfectly! She loves her grandparents. No doubt about it!
We toured the school, the stadium, the law school, and a bit of downtown. My mom took me shopping twice because she felt like I needed a bit of pampering. I agreed!!! It was great to get away and have some girl bonding time. The boys definitely had their fair share. Golf on Friday. They played at the school course and raved all weekend about it. I guess they had a good time. I'm usually pretty good about tuning out "golf talk."
Funny story. So at Church, our meetings are flopped. Relief Society/Priesthood first, Sunday school second, and Sacrament last. Ryan always takes Brin the first hour since I usually teach Young Women's. But this Sunday, I didn't teach so I could go to RS with my Mom. As we walked into the gym afterwards to find Ryan, my dad and Brinley, I saw Brinley at the other end of the gym. She started running towards me, I had my arms wide open for a big hug, but I noticed she started turning a bit to the left....into my MOTHER's arms. Geez. Talk about feeling replaced! No, I wasn't sad at all. It was a great Grandma moment and it made my mom SO happy the rest of the weekend. It was pretty funny.
We were sad to see them leave this morning, but we're SO glad they were able to come for a visit. Now, we have a whole week of Spring Break. Ryan is still planning on studying 5-8 hours a day, but it is so great to have him home and spend time with us. We sure miss him when he is gone all day.
Enjoy the pics!
At the Stadium
This ginormous tree by the law school. There are oak trees like this everywhere!!

Grammy, Gramps and Brin
Our 3 Generations pic didn't turn out so good because Brinley was SO mad she had to sit with us. She wanted to play with Sophie and Gramps!
Did you ever do this when you were little? I never had long hair and so I would pull my shirt over my head, keep it there, and say to my mom, "Look mommy, I have long hair."
Having fun with Gramps and Sophie.
Playing with chalk outside with Grammy. She rarely ever sticks the chalk in her mouth...silly girl!
The swag!
Come visit us again soon!
