Ellie: 9 and 10 months

I'm so behind! Here are updates on the past 2 months.

9 months
Ellie. My dear. You have learned how to crawl this month and you can't stop moving. You are everywhere. Your crawl is still needing to be perfected, but you are finding your own way around. I'm in no rush for you to speed around the house and get into everything. Take your time, sweet girl.

We went to the doctor last month because Ellie had a bad diaper rash (that needed a prescription, poor girl), but she weighed just under 17 pounds. Big girl!! Ryan and I can tell that she is "thinning" out a bit because she has become more mobile. Trust me, she is still rolly and chubby, but I don't know, she just looks more like an active baby now.

She is really finding her strength and voice in this family. She'll let you know when she needs something, when she is bored, hungry, tired of Brinley, needing attention...it is nice! She takes 2-3 naps a day depending on the length, varying from 2-4 hours each. She goes to bed from 7-8pm most nights and sleeps until midnight when I nurse her for the last time and then she wakes up for the day around 7-8am. Some nights she doesn't wake up at all to nurse, and sometimes she wakes up twice. So--I'm going to be happy when we I can sleep through the entire night. We are getting there!! She is definitely wearing 12 month clothes and is still in size 3 diapers.

10 months
Ellie. Oh, Ellie Shabellie.

She cut her first tooth this month and it has been a rough road. Her second bottom tooth FINALLY broke through. It took a few weeks, and we're all happier for it. It has been hard on her to nurse so we have dropped down to 2 times a day, morning and after her last nap or at bedtime.

While at my parents house, Ellie learned to pull herself up on furniture, and basically anything. My parents dog Sophie really started to like Ellie. One day, Sophie brought Ellie a toy and started barking at her. That means Sophie has accepted Ellie. It was so cute! Ellie just crawled after her the whole time and tried to touch her fur. If she got close enough, she would just grab Sophie's back and giggle.

Ellie did so great this past month traveling around and sleeping in odd places and houses. She is so predictable. She rarely puts up a fight at nap time and bed time. She is such a squishy treat and we love her so much. She has become so mobile and active, I've really had to step up my baby proofing! She is such a fun playmate for Brinley. Those two just giggle together and play all day long. Brinley gets a bit frustrated at times when Ellie knocks over her towers or breaks her Lego masterpieces, but we're working on that.

the crib picture happened after naps when she couldn't sit down and she started to cry. Sometimes she gets stuck and can't figure out how to get down.

Miss Ellie, you are growing up so fast! You are still as squishy and cute as ever. We love you so much, Sweetie Pie.
