New Years at the Steele's

We had the unique opportunity to spend our Christmas vacation time with both sides of our families. My sister was in town from Oregon and I knew we had to make the drive to North Carolina to see her, along with my brother and his cute family.
We told my parents that we would be there Thursday, but secretly decided to drive Wednesday to surprise them. So we woke up Wednesday morning at 6, drove the 8 hour drive, and pulled in before 3pm (multiple stops of course for Brinley and lunch time).
My parents were at the Temple so we parked our car in the garage so that when they came home and opened the garage, they would see our car. It worked out perfectly. I thought my Mom was going to start crying she was so surprised. She said that it was a belated Christmas present! And it really was. Ahhh, I love my family!
Brinley was so thrilled to see her cousins, Benjamin (almost 5) and Carter (almost 2). Those kids have been non-stop all day, which equals, good naps and quick to go to bed at 6:30pm. I always miss being with my family around the holidays. We skyped with my brother and his new wife, Cassandra, and it made us all so trunky to see each other. They're in Utah going to school and couldn't come home during the break because of their jobs.
Our days were busy chasing the 3 kids, and our nights were full of football bowl games, naturally :-)

Here is what our days looked like:
playing dress up with our old Halloween costumes with Grandma.

feeding the doggies treats with Grandpa

going out to lunch with just the ladies (mama was taking the picture)

showing off my new fancy Fossil watch that Ryan gave me for Christmas!

LEGOS! and forts

cheesy grins by Brinley

cute doggies- Penny (L) and Sophie (R)

Bowl games

bedtime books with Grandpa
